Agreeing to terms of service is something I do for many apps and it takes me only a couple of seconds. I have never fully read any terms of service contract especially when it is online. Many people do the same thing and just click “I agree” and never think about it again. I think many of us do it because we know that everyone on the app or website has clicked it, so there must not be anything bad if so many people have agreed already. The Inside Edition social experiment really made me think about how many things I have agreed to and what was in them. There could be some really ridiculous stuff in them that if most of us read we would not click “I agree” as fast as we do. The website that rated different apps and websites based on their websites terms and privacy policies was really eye opening. Three websites I was really shocked about how bad the rating was were Amazon, YouTube, and PayPal. PayPal and Amazon was really shocking for me since it has everyones credit card information, so I was expecting it to have more privacy policies. Seeing how many websites track what you do on other websites and how they can share your personal information to third parties is scary and is a motivator to see what is actually in the terms of service.
